My journey in the world of software development began back in 2020 stemming from a wish to help my community. Back then I began learning by building a Discord bot for a small group of aviation enthusiasts I was a part of. This quickly escalated to working on other bots, as well as primitive websites and Node.js applications. At the beginning I already had a good enough understanding of boolean algebra and state machines and thus the somewhat counterintuitive nature of some programming techniques did not hinder my learning progress.
Since I am an aviation educator my further experience, naturally, was mostly as part of my effort to improve the learning experience of those actively participating in the communities I was a part of at the time. I developed learning management systems, Wiki-like platforms, and other applications relevant for the cause. I worked day and night learning Node.js, React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte for web applications, as well as Electron, Python, C/C++, and Unity for desktop applications. I also worked with many databases, like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, MongoDB, Redis, and GraphDB ensuring the best experience for users in every application I worked on. I learned the ins and outs of building agile, accessible, and user-friendly applications all on my own and deployed every single application I worked on so far myself too.
I began my professional work as a Full-Stack Software Engineer in November 2024 after being hired for a part-time position. In my line of work I continued developing educational projects with strong community impact co-funded by the European Union. To this day I am continuously contributing to both paid and volunteering projects and am never stepping off my path of lifelong learning. I take pride in the work that I do and would love to talk about it more!
